The CXUL is designed for jumping in the mountains. It is ideal for slider up applications where weight and pack volume are a primary concern.
Harness Geometry
The CXUL's new harness geometry is clean, simple, and strong. A double thickness MLW carries full strength from risers to leg loops, with a sleek bridge/lateral junction. The riser/diagonal junction is no-peel, and low-profile.
Materials
Proprietary 30mm Dyneema-blend webbing is used from risers to leg loops. The Diagonal is made from Amsteel. The container is made from a blend of poly & sail cloth, with CNC cut flap stiffeners.
Application & Weight
The CXUL is designed to be used with the IBEX.UL canopy. Total system weight will be approximately 3.9 kg (~8.5 lbs) for an average size jumper. It is designed for slider up Alpine missions.
The CXUL is 100% CAD designed and precision built with laser & CNC cut parts in Squirrel's own production facility. Each rig is hand-inspected by Martin Tilley, of Asylum Designs.
CAD to Laser & CNC
The CXUL was modeled in the same powerful CAD software we use for wingsuit design. Panels are laser-cut, and all load-bearing junctions use CAD-designed stitch patterns placed with automated CNC-bartackers.
Sleek & Simple Geometry
With new geometry throughout, the MLW/Riser and Lateral/Bridge junctions employ a simple, strong, and low-profile design. Amsteel is used for the diagonal span.
Light Custom Plate Buckles
Based on our 43mm buckles, and made from the same high-strength aluminum, the 30mm buckles are removable yet secure. If you choose to keep the buckles always attached, then the leg straps function the same as traditional BASE buckles at a fraction of the weight.
Cushioned Leg Straps
Ultralight closed-cell foam backed with a layer of Dacron provides a comfortable amount of cushion with single-width webbing.
