DETAILS

INTEGRATED RAPPEL LOOPS

Rappel loops are integrated into the harness at the hip area. Use your own slings or add the SQRL designed rap slings to your order.

BRIDLE CHANNEL

Updated for 2020: A bridle protection channel hides your bridle completely, putting your busy mind at ease... at least about that little detail.

DYNAMIC CORNERS / BOC

Updated for 2020: We've redesigned the dynamic corners for a more thorough closure. The CRUX opens into a perfectly flat tray once the pins are released and the bottom corners close easily. The length of the container is medium-long, for easy BOC access and comfort during wingsuit & tracking use.

PIN PROTECTION

Integrated riser cover / side flaps prevent flap-edge exposure. The CRUX’s pin cover flap is designed with versatility across all BASE applications in mind. It is smooth and aerodynamic for wingsuit and tracking use while also being slider-down friendly.

LOW PIN-LOCK TENDENCY

Like the STREAM and kN, we began development of this harness with awareness and knowledge of known issues in older harness/container designs. The pin flap protects your bridle from airflow while still allowing immediate release during a head-high or otherwise unstable deployment. We think you will agree that the balance between coverage and forgiveness in situations of acute bridle angles is excellent.

SMART HARNESS

The CRUX harness geometry offers an integrated riser design with a smooth and low profile MLW / Diagonal junction. This allows a low-profile and comfortable fit at the shoulder area, and >22kN resistance at any conceivable angle during deployment. The “bridge” reinforcement joining the rear diagonal / MLW / riser junction prevents peeling load and is a clean and simple solution to the known issues that affect previous integrated riser designs.

SMART CONSTRUCTION

Traditional construction techniques work, but some modern construction techniques work better. By better, we mean stronger and more precise. Programmed bartacks offer a high level of precision and consistency from harness to harness. The CAD designed bartack patterns are chosen specifically for each segment of the harness, in accordance with the applicable force and direction.

CUSTOM PLATE BUCKLES

The leg straps are secured with aluminum frame buckles, which can be attached and released without passing your leg through the loop. This is a useful option for gearing up on precarious exit points, or while on rappel. If you prefer to pass your legs through closed loops, this is also possible – just leave the buckles mated together.

TAPERED LATERALS

This tapered cover allows a slightly longer container design, without the creation of an exposed corner, making the CRUX a bit friendlier for BASE aerials.

DYNEEMA WEBBING

Our blended Dyneema webbing is a traditional width (similar to type-8) but is significantly stronger and lighter than type-8. It is tested to a 7000lb (31kN) breaking strength. The white face is Dyneema, woven together with Polyester (black) for structure and durability.

NBS SYSTEM

The NBS (No BS) system is an important development in modern harness design. If you would like to learn more about the different types of harness geometry that are being advertised today, then please contact us for a complete history on cross-bracing (from its arrival on the paragliding scene in the 1990s to present), and a detailed education on the true causes of, and real cures for, line twists and body twists, both in BASE and Wingsuit BASE. We will be happy to discuss harnesses and technique in great depth with you.

NEW STUFF INCLUDED

We've made the stash pocket standard, and the metal frame double-blade hook knife with removable sheath is free with every order.

CRUX REVIEW

"It’s simple, light weight, and comfortable. I really like that you can choose to use the floor plate or the top flap for closing. It’s comfortable on the exit point as well as under canopy."

"With the Crux, your hand just follow an easy path to the PC even in a large wingsuit. The Crux/Hayduke/Snatch Team is not only awesome for wingsuit activity, it's a blast for regular and technical slider up and slider down jumps. I have consistent nice on heading openings. The Hayduke is very efficient for low jumps and technical tight landing areas. That's a very cool & versatile equipment built for fun!

"For me it is important that a container fits well and is comfortable at the exit and under canopy. The Crux meets those needs perfectly. The top of the container hugs to top of my back nicely and the riser/riser covers run smoothly over my shoulders. It is of lighter construction but still has some stiffness in the sidewalls and bottom corners to make it easy to pack and give it some shape. I found it easy to pack/close without having to change anything in my regular packjob. I tried bottom first, top first, floor plate and top flap – all very easy. A very good looking, very comfortable and excellent fitting container that is a breeze to pack.

My experience with the Crux/Hayduke was great. For my jumping style (SD in Moab) the Crux/Hayduke is a great fit. The Crux/Hayduke would be my go-to rig in Moab. I assumed I got a ‘loaded’ demo package, but see that all the things I assumed were options (Dyneema Blend webbing, releasable leg strap buckles and padded back pad) are actually included, which makes this an even more attractive and well-priced package."
